 Full Profile

Broadly speaking my research interests fall under two main headings - case-based reasoning and personalization. Early on in my research career, and for my PhD work in particular, I focused on fundamental research in case-based reasoning and made a number of contributions in areas such as case retrieval, case learning, case adaptation and competence modeling. In more recent years I have developed a second related strand of research in the area of user modeling, personalization and recommender systems. My work has always been strongly influenced by theoretical and applied considerations and the development and evaluation of practical solutions, that have a strong theoretical foundation, is a consistent theme across all of my research and the work of my research group.
